one, but has to be done legally. ryan joins us live with an important deadline happening today. yeah good morning. december 2013 is when nevada became one of the sixth test states in the nation and nevada's state as a whole is one of those six test states talking about specific airports and specific units sometimes specific locations of specific universities as the other test sites so it's been a big, big thing here for the past several years and now we've reached that point and the deadline, bill you were talking about it earlier if you have a drone as a hobbiest between half a pound and 55 pounds you need to get it register that needs to happen by today. today is the deadline, only costs $5, head to faa.gov, you need to have a certification if you fly your drone upon that registration. this is very important for several reasons one of which we are here at the reno tahoe
7:12 am
cannot fly a drone within 5 feet of where we are standing right now at the airport also reno airport it is 3-miles without contacting the airport first. each airport has their own line that you want to contact but there is so many rules and regulations not to deter you from buying a drone and flying it you need to go through the legal process in order to do that again faa.gov is where you need to go if you need to register your drone by today. coming up the repercussions if you fly without registering, you could face up to prison time we'll tell you all about that in 30 minutes we'll send it back to you. up next, new developments in the case regarding in story for the nevada rancher after the break stay with us

of nevada and so many different countries coming through in the last several years since nevada became a test state back in december 2013. faa designation happened then, but now we've gotten to a point where just about anyone can have them which is a good thing for the industry a lot of people would argue but needs to be done right and safely. the faa designated a time for registration as far as when drones need to be registered by, that is literally today right now. $5 is all it costs the website faa.gov is where you need to go to do that the penalties are pretty severe we're talking about fines up to $250,000 for criminal prosecutions and up to 3 years in prison if you don't do this right obviously so many different dangers flying near an airport can be one of them we're standing near the airport where officials say you need to be more than 5-miles away from here and let the, cannot fly within 5-miles without letting the airport know that you are doing that and need to know
8:06 am
high you can go, how far the drone can fly away from you the operator different safety issues which is why is so important, you need to register them and do it the right way. $5, faa.gov if you have them or you know anyone who flies drones or owns them, pretty simple process definitely a lot of repercussions if you don't. send it back to you. turning to politics bernie sanders is making a campaign stop in sparks this afternoon, happening at 3:00 inside the rose ballroom of the nugget casino resorts the event is free and open to the public. but campaign officials say rsvps are strongly encourages, doors open at 1 p.m. on the last day before the caucuses at least on the democrat side, former president bill clinton will be campaigning for his wife here in reno he'll be holding on
8:07 am
nevada will gain national attention in the upcoming presidential race no doubt about that nevada of course beginning its caucus saturday the process is a letel different maybe confusing. they literally vote on their feet, talking about democrats after going to the designated caucus location, democrats are then asked to pick a candidate, they then go into the corner of that room and stand up with the group that has the same candidate reference. republicans are critical of that system and hold their caucus much like a primary. well nevada is gearing up for the first caucus, democrats up first tomorrow we have fox 11 with a look inside, hi there, alex. good morning, bill. it's been neck and neck between hillary clinton and bernie sanders, it is going to be very interesting to see who voters pick tomorrow. nevada is different like you said we're like iowa where we have a caucus instead of a

coming up. . welcome back your time is 8:13 right now it is 32 degrees in reno. the weekend is here a lot of people looking at get out and enjoy the weather if you can. you know it should be a good weekend but if you are looking like i don't have the equipment i'd like to maybe get an intense work out we are here from ccf fitness, listen you don't need all the gym equipment. is it sometimes better? sometimes. there are other times you can do what you need with simple stuff at home. you have a balloon. come on you're thinking, no. you can work out with something as simple as a balloon or maybe one of your kids, a ball, a blow up ball. >> so, being a mom and being on the go all the time and you just want to do something, i came across the balloon and just started messing around
8:14 am
with this. shoulders inner thigh, core, but i wanted to show you this with the shoulders. all you do is take your arms super straight and you are pressing the balloon in. okay. and you think it's nothing, probably looking at this right now, if you get high volume in reps you are going to really feel it and you can just go up over head all the way and just keep pressing and pulsing all the way down and you can do time and tension. do as many as you can in one minute. >> another one is the thigh which we've all seen this from different types of contraptions this is easier if you've had the other thigh ones, they push out a little bit further this one is easy closer in. this is all inner thigh this works very well and i think a goal should be to pop up. >> yeah. totally. just keep pulsing and pulsing. >> a great one for the abs. balloon is between the feet and you get the balloon lay it
8:15 am
straight legs, back in, over head, okay. also for the inner thigh, press the ball with the feet and then you can do that same motion that you did with your hands all the way up and keep pressing and so you get the inner thigh. something so easy as a balloon i think a lot of people sometimes over think exercising, it has to be something. >> with the weights they have to be at the gym that's not the case at all you can do so much with stuff around the house. people have questions how can they find you? e-mail me or go to our website ccfreno.com or come by the gym. >> a lot of great tips as well. thank you. thank you so much for having me. tim over to you. we have patchy morning fog in a few spots out there this morning up into the sierra valley as well. as perhaps parts of north central and northeastern nevada keep it easy with that out there this morning otherwise things are dry for a lot of us with breezy and gusty
8:16 am
into the afternoon and evening by this afternoon and evening too, we'll start to watch snow once again mostly north of tahoe within the sierra that includes places like donner summit if you are heading up in the mountains. 32 in town, partly cloudy skies, 6 miles per hour winds and 75% humidity we're in the 20s and 30s across much of the area now going for the 40s and 50s later on today but even warmer temperatures are on the 7 day in a molt here. here is our system for later on this afternoon, this is going to stay mostly to the north of us within the mountains north of tahoe and including the tahoe area as well. heads up for snow showers later today, could see slippery roads this afternoon and evening things are quiet starting up into the weekend and the beginning of next week as well the rest of the seven day forecast looking quiet. there are weather alerts coming today for the northern sierra there is a winter weather advisory in the sierra from 2
8:17 am
a lake wind advisory at tahoe for winds and wave activity as well, and that also is in place for pyramid. in northeastern nevada, melting snow and any added moisture leading to a flood advisory there could be high rivers out there some water on some of the roadways so flood advisory in elco county until 1:45 this afternoon. seven day forecast, we've got that system coming through later today for the northern sierra, so most of us are dry today but breezy to gusty winds and then of course as i mentioned the northern sierra has that snow later on today a few inches of snow possible in the northern section of the mountains. heading into the weekend in the beginning things are mostly quiet and dry we're looking at warmer temperatures by monday back to the 60 degree mark in reno sparks and 60s next week over to you.

. welcome back to mornings on fox, 8:41 on your friday morning we have patchy morning fog possible in a few spots, especially the sierra valley locations that see that quite often as a storm system comes through and north central and eastern nevada to see patchy morning fog, other than that a breezy to gusty day across the area with afternoon and evening snow in the northern sierra
8:42 am
most of us should stay pretty much dry but we have a weak storm system passing through the northern sierra later today that could make for some slippery conditions on some of the area roadways north of tahoe that does include donner summit as well as other passes 32, partly cloudy skies, 6 miles per hour winds and 76% humidity. we're in the 20s and 30s now across the area going to the 40s and 50s later on today. a mix of sun and clouds right now, there is auromoisture for later on today. this is mainly in the northern sierra. that means from tahoe northward in the mountains, not as much outside of the mountain range and not as much in the southern sierra, low chances to see something isolated most will be in the northern half of the mountain, i-80 could be affected later on this afternoon and into the evening. once we head into the weekend things are dry and quiet and probably less wind with warmer temperatures by the time we get to next week at the beginning
8:43 am
a little bit breezy, 10 to 15 gusting and 15 to 25 gusting to 40 for the valleys of nevada. tahoe we're looking for ridge gusts as high in the ridge tops of the sierra, rest of us gusting to 40 miles per hour. and it is mostly a dry day for almost everyone the exception once you get up into that northern sierra that's where we have that good chance for some snow showers later today a few inches of accumulation possible not so much though once you get outside of the northern half of the sierra. as we head into the seven day forecast, things are mostly dry for the weekend into the beginning of next week, warmer temperatures are on the way. we should hit the 60 degree mark by monday in reno sparks and in the 60s for the middle of next week over to you. there is a new partnership with the heritage music series
